  • Chili Flakes – Minimal amount of chili flakes for a slight heat

How to cook or Saute Spinach?

The recipe I have shared here is a simple and healthy Sauteed Spinach. The recipe requires just under 30 minutes and a handful of ingredients. I have seasoned the spinach here with garlic, chili flakes, and salt but you can always customize it according to your preference as well.

  • Saute – In a pan with medium heat, pour oil and add garlic. Saute until it turns aromatic
  • Wilt – Add the spinach leaves and cook until it wilts
  • Season – Once the leaves wilted, season them with chili flakes and salt. If you notice the water is still left behind, feel free to saute it on high heat for a few seconds
  • Remove – Remove the Sautéed Spinach from heat and it is now ready for you to taste and enjoy
  • Serve – Serve this Sauteed Spinach with rice, baked chicken breast, baked salmon, grilled salmon, or similar chicken or seafood dishes.

  • Washing Spinach – Usually spinach leaves that come in packages are pre-washed and dried. But one with bundles is not washed, so always make sure to trim the stems and double wash them thoroughly. After washing, air dry them completely before using them in the recipe
  • Cooking – Spinach leaves need approximately 3 to 5 minutes to cook. But if you find a lot of water after the spinach is wilted, then I recommend sauteing them on high heat for a few seconds
  • Serving – This wilted spinach tastes great with most rice recipes, baked chicken, or fish
